Maggie Kent
Foresight Strategist | Researcher | Storyteller
About
I am an experienced foresight strategist with over seven years experience working on multi-disciplinary teams and leading strategic projects in consumer goods, non-profit, and healthcare sectors. I bring a vast curiosity, a love of learning, and a keen interest in conquering new challenges in creative and innovative ways to any team and project. I am a team player, hard worker, communicator and relationship builder who believes in the value and power of designing for the future.
My experience spans strategic foresight (signal collection, trend identification, scenario generation, and foresight reports), brand strategy, market research (primary and secondary), facilitation, writing, and strategic consulting. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology and a Master’s degree in Strategic Foresight and Innovation, allowing me to understand human behaviour while diving deep into research to generate strategically sound outcomes. I’ve done work for Walmart Canada, SickKids Foundation, Intact Insurance, One of a Kind Show, and many American pharmaceutical companies.
Skills & Experience
-
Research, trend identification, and scenario generation are all parts of my foresight experience and practice. While I can’t predict the future with absolute certainty, I can use emerging trends and signals to understand what potential futures may look like and how to best strategically position yourself for whatever future arises.
-
Fast paced projects, managing more than one thing at a time, and impeccable attention to detail are what my consulting background affords me in all of my work.
-
I have vast experience in both primary and secondary research. I have conducted one-on-one interviews as well as focus groups and am well versed in secondary research methods both foresight-specific and otherwise.
-
Workshops, interviews, and focus groups are all scenarios in which I have experience facilitating and moderating. I am a people person, inherently curious, and skilled at getting the most interesting and useful insights and information from these sessions.
-
Through my personal blog, articles for work, and client reports and presentations I have extensive writing experience. It’s something I enjoy and am highly skilled at.
